Olay Cleansing Melts

   This is the NEW Olay Cleansing melts, they are water activated and can be used daily. They contain Retinol and are fragrance free for those that are sensitive to scents or other additives. I really enjoyed the ease of this when it came to my morning routine.

     The first thing you do is open package and take a square style wafer from a easy to reseal package (perfect to keep product from getting tainted from a drop of water but keeps them fresh inside package and not break). Add a bit of water to the palm of your hand where the wafer is but be careful not to blow it out of your hand it will go down the drain. It feels almost soapy in your hand once dissolved about 3 seconds.

     Rub your hands together  and it creates a nice lather feel it feels nice and soft, warm from the water.

     Massage your face with both hands to get every inch from forehead to neck. Keep away from eyes you don't want to get it there. I allowed it to sit on my face for a minute or two while brushing my teeth. Then I sometimes just splash water on my face or I will use a wash cloth and give a little extra scrub while wiping it off.

     It takes so little time and makes your face feel like a million bucks. It gives me a soft, clean and moisturized feel for the whole day. Do you have a skin care routine? This can replace a lot of products and makes your day more complete. As with any Olay product it is top notch and they stand behind their products. Hurry run grab a box. California Board of Pharmacy wants to mandate medicine flavoring to be done in a Compound Pharmacy .. How will it affect our kids?

 

As a mom of a special kiddo I know how important it is to get the medicine in to prevent an emergency issue because the child refuses it or spits it out and does not get the full dose. I like the offer of all these fun flavors that may not have taken away the ickkk but sure made it more tolerable. If this becomes something parents have to struggle to get they will have to resort to giving what they can and how they can. I realize California is one of few states that still offer this blessing and want to give other parents the peace of mind knowing this can be done with ease.

WHAT DOES USING A COMPOUNDING PHARMACY MEAN? 

It means that if you want to add a flavor to your child’s medication, you can no longer use your local retail pharmacy. You will need to use a compounding pharmacy. While I use and appreciate compounding pharmacies for some medications for my kids, they are far away from my home and I receive the medication by mail. I can’t imagine waiting that long for medication I need for my child if it’s more urgent.

WHAT WILL CA ASSEMBLY BILL 782 DO? 

Assemblywoman Tina McKinnor (D-Inglewood), Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks), and Assemblyman Tom Lackey (R-Palmdale), both Democratic and Republican members, have introduced Assembly Bill 782 to continue allowing community pharmacies to flavor medicine for our toddlers and children. A lot has happened this year.

     Covid and other things had taken a toll on many. Me included. From aunts to uncles, cousins to friends it has been a rough couple of years.

     This past May I was DX'd with a pulmonary embolism in my lower left lung. Life sentence ABSOLUTELY... death sentence I FOUGHT AND WON (for now).I am now nearly 8 months out and 3months clear. 

     My life now evolves around eating better, snacking less and exercising more. Do I have any tips or tricks NOT REALLY. My motivation is my family (kids and hubby) and the extended family. 

     This year I will focus back on reviewing products but it will be items that benefit a healthful lifestyle. No not gross foods and exercise equipment (that is unless some is offered, hint hint) but more sustainable lifestyle for someone like me that has learned the value of life.

     I will still review with SparkReviewer. I will still do product reviews.

     My goal is to leave a feel good message daily I cannot promise daily because I tend to get caught up in the daily family activities but I will do my best.

I have Conquered a PE Blood Clot #survivor #miracle

 On October 13th #WTDay2021  my Pulmonologist sent me to the Heart Hospital for a follow up CT with contrast due to some lingering issues I had over the weekend. He told me before I went " Remember IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY" "it may shrink BUT it WILL NEVER BE GONE".

After spending 6 hours in observation due to my <3 being tachy a full work up, CT with Contrast, the need for 5 Potassium pills..........DRUMROLL PLEASE...........

I am CLOT FREE!! NO CLOT COULD BE FOUND.. 😕 Don't get me wrong I am ecstatic but utterly confused. 

FB post: I was DX'd with a acute chronic PE in my lower right lung in May of 2021 and spent 3 days in the Heart Hospital. I began to experience the same symptoms but my  was tachy. Had a contrast CT done yesterday #5mosPostDX and was told the PE that would never dissolve is GONE #vanished #notrace I am stumped, a non believer was told this was nothing less than a death sentence.. and NOW I am clot free? Don't get me wrong I am HAPPY but confused.

Now I am asking for a 2nd opinion. Is this a MIRACLE? Is this a mistake? Did I just cheat death and won? Did I really have a Chronic clot or was it just Acute?

FB post: Today I am told I have Bilateral Emphysema (never smoked a day) and a cyst on my Liver (per CT) of which none of that showed in May. Now my PE has been cured is it a "miracle"? or was I being treated for something I did not have? Just today I saw my Pulmonologist and he said "WHAT YOU HAVE WILL NEVER GO AWAY IT MIGHT SHRINK EVENTUALLY BUT NEVER GO AWAY" SOOO how does one explain this? My gall bladder is enlarged(side effect of Xarelto)..cysts on my Liver( side effect of Xarelto).. unable to maintain Potassium level (side effect of Xarelto).

For now I am a "SURVIVOR" I fought and "Won" 

October 07 2021 5 mos Post DX PE blood clot #goli #xarelto

      Today is 5 months since my life changing DX of a PE blood clot. How did I get it? Good question. Speculation is Covid -19 could it be something else ....could be but not likely.

      I went from being a home schooling mom(during covid) working as a sub aide for the handicapped in a High School setting to a stay at home mom(hopefully temporary). 

      I was overly healthy minus HBP and the usual Anemia, had a couple setbacks due to a throat surgery and Hysterectomy but other than that.. I was good.

      Went to see an Urgent Care in March 2020 told I had Bronchitis and my kids did as well, though we had the weird body aches, random fevers that lasted weeks not days, cough that lingered and to finish it all loss of taste and smell. The kids were tested for influenza and strep and tested Neg for both so told it was Bronchitis likely exacerbated by their asthma.

May 7th 2021 my DX PE--(previous post)

I now have COPD (never smoked) Potassium deficiency and CO2 too high and will require O2 as well as BiPAP. Thank you PE for making me O2 dependent (sarcasm). I am 49 !!

I now have lost 35 lbs, am on a medication called Xarelto still need my HBP pills and now am taking an extra one to control my BP. I as well take a Potassium pill because I am deficient I take supplements of Tumeric and eat everything with Cayenne. I take Goli Apple Cider and SuperGreens. I have had no soda i drink water and 1 cup of coffee a day. I eat very little meat if I do Chicken and some pork. Limited bread. Low salt, low fat diet. 

I feel well (enough)

My Life with a PE Blood Clot dx 5/07/2021

 I was of average health, a bit overweight(not a lot but enough), high BP (hereditary) and anemic. My life changed on May 7th 2021 after seeing my heart doctor and noting that I had this weird nagging pain in my left lung(for a week) and a heaviness in my chest. I was sent to the CT scan to rule out anything of concern. I drove home and while making my kids dinner (chicken and rice) the phone rang it was the doctor telling me to get to the hospital ASAP and my life stopped. So did dinner. So did my ability to comprehend what I was being told. Upon being at the hospital they took a lot of blood, did a lot of xrays, talked to me but never did I realize what was happening nor what was ultimately wrong and how serious I was. 

I stayed in the ER while awaiting my transfer upstairs to a room with a nurse view, semi comfy bed that moved and shook when it felt needed. The food they served was amazing and I realized how much of a life change I needed to make. I was given medication by IV and said we will wait and see what was needed next. To a person who never really had to stay in a hospital this was scary but even then I was in denial. Denial of knowing how sick I really was (am) . The CT scan showed a Mod sized clot in my lower right lung, was dx as chronic clot possible lung and heart damage (but too early to determine theextent). I stayed in the cardiac care unit till May 9th(yep I missed family gathering for mothers Day). That day began my Xarelto journey.

The first week home was tough. I had trouble breathing and catching my breath. My O2 was low and my pulse was low. I went through bouts of fasting because i could not stomach food. As mentioned before I made BIG changes #1 my diet no fast food add Cayenne and Tumeric to my diet, NO SODA and follow a heart healthy low cal/carb diet. OK I am not a guinea pig and salads are not my friend so I chose to look into fish (salmon patties) and chicken patties(plant based) lots of water, some salad and pay attention what I put in my mouth. After 3rd week I could go for walks on my own without feeling like I would pass out. By week 6 I got in the pool for some aquatic time. I had to learn to listen to my body which gets tired fast.

I am now 4 months out on my journey. I still have to take naps (weird) or I cannot sleep at night. I still live on a heart healthy diet. I still take walks and do exercise. I still have had no soda. I have trouble maintaining my potassium (taking Klor). 

Survivor? Yes I have survived 4 months!! I will win this fight!!

  This is such a nice speaker, small in size heavy in weight. It comes as a CD or Karaoke, am/fm antennae hook up, bluetooth enabled. Don't let the instructions get to you they are all pictures and some words would have been nice :) 

The bluetooth enables once you turn it on out of standby mode after holding button for 3-5 seconds. It does come with a remote and batteries. 

The buttons on top are large and well marked. The front of the speaker lights up and changes colors while music is playing which makes it fun at night or in the dark. The front display is easy to read and digital. This will be an antiquate part of our pool parties this summer. It boosts a loud boom and is very nicely balanced, not muffled or crackly . **  I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion **
