                                         I am a total candle person, not only is it nice and relaxing to see but 

the scents of candles is calming.

These little "soy" beauties are called Old Factory and they are perfectly scented to create a very distinct, inviting aroma.  

                                              Because it is a "soy" candle it is made with a cotton wick to produce less soot and cleaner atmosphere where it is burning. They can last up to 20 hours , I can honestly say they do, as it took almost 2 days to fully burn out. It is hard to imagine it is a fairly small jar at 2oz packed with a ton of life in its little body.

I was given a choice in the scent style I was being offered and that was perfect for me knowing that I had my choice. The selection was wide and each set had its own personality to suit an individual interest. In the end, after much back and forth, I decided on The Winter Wonderland" which is the seasonal selection. 

The scents included were:

 Hot Cocoa- I am honestly not a fan of most Hot Cocoa or chocolate scented candles because they normal smell so fake, but this one actually had a very favorable scent, it had a note of chocolate but a hint of creaminess to it.

Roasted Chestnut: Had a hint of sweet yet nuttiness reminded me of a sweet warm drink, Sweet but not overwhelming. 

First Snow- was the first one I burned, for no reason other than I closed my eyes and picked:) I can honestly say I do not know what a "first snow" smells like but if it smells that good wrap me up in it nightly!! This candle was sweet, but floral, but fruity all rolled into one.

These candles are sold exclusively on Amazon, and each gift set includes 3 candles at 2oz each. If you are looking for that particular gift for that fussy friend who is simple but refined..look no further. I mean after all who does not like a candle??

**My Top Book Picks for Dec 2014** #holidaygiftguide

Whether it be Christmas or just because I enjoy adding books to my childrens library. I have some picks for great reads for this year and its gift guide in no particular  order:) as they are all fantastic books.

My Yellow Balloon

As I was reading this I was touched by the way the author really created the story. Joey friends balloon, becomes very attached to it and one day it was gone. It really gave meaning to the book and taught the readers a vivid picture of a young boys loss and desperation to have the feeling he had with the balloon. It ends showing us how he became at eace and grasped a whole new understanding of growing and life.

Don't Judge a Lizard by its Scales Collection

Great book teaching children to not judge others and is perfect if you are trying to show children that bullying is no fun. I think this is a great read for the kids, has great lessons and I am very impressed with the lizard being the hero in the book. 

Wizard Lizard Rides the Subway (The Principle Gang Series)

Like the other book in the series I feel the other has a very impressive way of slipping in life lessons in a way that children can understand. As with the other book it is also an anti bullying message (great idea but only need so many in a series before I get burned out and my kids lose interest). The illustrations were the key to the cuteness of the book and made it more enjoyable not repetitive.

This is The Greatest Place

This was a spectacular book, unlike any others I own. I felt it was very engaging with the pictures and the flaps and folded sections, pictures and maps give the story. I myself learned a lot about the forbidden city, unfortunately my little ones lost interest because it was in depth and a little wordy for them. This would be perfect for a little bit older kids as it is very descriptive and imaginative. 

I as a mom enjoyed it and may put it in my book shelf for now as I may have to pull it out again. People and animals CAN live together in harmony :)

In The Forbidden City

This was a very well written and very descriptive book and it felt like I had a serious history lesson unlike any other. This is by far the most grown up childrens book I have read and honestly I read it to myself, as my kids had no idea what a China was. I had heard of the forbidden city but this created the vivid picture of what was really happening in those walls and courtyards. I thought the magnifying glass was a cute idea and the illustrations were marvelous. This is perfect for that pre teen or teen that is really into history.

**Big Slice Pure Apples** #sp #Holiday Gift Guide 2014

                                                       Here is a great snack idea for that hard to shop for food enthusiast. After one taste I can honestly say these Big Slice Apples are Amazing, they are sweet some tangy, tons of flavor with plenty of variety.

                                                These can be found in the Target stores or Grandma Hoerners page, come in 16 flavor combinations (from simple to virtually unheard of) and contain real ingredients..did I mention Gluten Free :) 

I had the opportunity to try these for myself and have decided these are so delicious I see stocking stuffers in the future. The flavor just creates a whole new sensation in your mouth, far from the plain old apple sauce.

Each bite just screams..LOOK.. all apples, all natural, no oil packed in natural juice. The pouches are perfect for on the go and slide nicely in a diaper bag or even a purse. 

The texture is soft but not mushy.

This is the Pure collection simple combinations packed with flavor.

This is the fit, perfect for those gym moments when you just need a little something special.

Finally is the luxe all the pleasure minus the guilt.

                                  My kids loved every one of the flavor combinations we tried. I split the packages up to my little tasters and wanted them to have an overall feeling for their favorites. Could they choose NOPE each one they tried was perfect. So since I can't get a judge you will have to try for yourself :)

JBL Rechargeable Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker #GiftGuide2014

I received this JBL Bluetooth Rechargeable Clip portable wireless speaker and thought it to be exceptional for the teen in my home. The clip is perfect for his backpack or belt loop and has a sturdy latch. You can plug it in easily to any portable device using its 3.5 mm integrated audio cable, but you can play it wirelessly using its Bluetooth functionality, streaming your music with no strings or cables attached. It is perfect for the on the go kid or adult. The directions could use some wording rather than just illustrations, it does take a minute to figure out what the pictures say to get the clip turned on, synced and able to make phone calls amplified. 

It has a power button, phone compatible button and sync button, once you get it synced you are in business. I did try with multiple phones in my home which all connected and synced to the device and it worked equally well on all 3. I thought the sound was clear and easily understood, no crackling or gaps in speech. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod you can use that AC adapter to charge it. I don't know if other cells have 5 volts AC adapters. Just make sure its a 5 volt AC/USB adapter. Clip isn't waterproof or dust-proof, so you may want to avoid using it too close to the pool. **All opinions are my own and others can and may differ**
