When becoming a new mom we look for anything that can provide the comfort and care our special bundle of joy needs. This Glider Swing by Graco offers the safe protective care a mother offers her child, a warm hug with gentle rocking motion to soothe the little one to sleep so you can get some much needed arm rest. After 4 children myself I can remember the tireless days and nights of rocking to soothe the cranky baby and knowing I am getting nothing done because no rocking means no peace.
I have to say I really like the seat belt, if applied correctly the baby is safe and secure. The shoulder harness is not specifically attached to the belt which makes it so much easier to adjust baby.
The Glider swing offers you the option to plug in or use batteries, as we all know everything runs on batteries and that in itself can cost a fortune. I remember back before they were battery operated :o and we had to crank them to keep the swing rocking and at the time of my first born gliders were unheard of.
The seating is so soft and cushion y to protect that little back and head and provide the same comfort mom or dads lap offers. The padding is removable and washing machine safe (IMO gentle detergent, no bleach and I line dry). The padding can be removed as the baby gets a little bigger as no so much support will be required. The seating does offer vibration to rock to sleep but as always be aware of your baby and the swing. Do not extra pad it as what comes with is plenty and has been tested and baby proofed. Once baby is asleep it is not necessary to remove baby from swing just turn it off to save electricity and batteries. AND always strap a baby in you do not want any unneeded accidents that could be prevented.
The final thing I want to mention is the music I loved the wide variety of music and sounds, if you are not a good singer (like me) this is a godsend. Music can help calm as well as relax the senses for a baby after all they have been hearing all the sounds from outside for months before birth.
