Hueys Nut Free Chocolates Review

Huey's Nut-Free Chocolate Logo

This Hueys Nut Free company is in the business of providing great tasting chocolate with out the chance of nut cross contamination.
A bit about the company:
Matthew, aka Huey, is my very active boy who loves Rocky and hockey and soccer – and, like most people, chocolate.   When he was diagnosed as being allergic to peanuts, we learned that even a chocolate product that does not contain nuts may not be not safe for him to eat due to potential contamination issues in the manufacturing process.
We offer a wide variety of chocolate treats that will appeal to children and adults, from 6 flavors of truffles and cream based chocolates to fun shapes that everyone can enjoy. If there is something that you would like to see, do not hesitate to let me know by email or phone.

**I received products from this company to facilitate a review, my opinions are 100% my own and the receipt of product never guarantees a positive review**
I received the 6 piece mint creme in dark chocolate, like all the products nut free

comes in 6,12,24 packs

cool mint centers, bite sized ($7.25)

the josie's 2oz bag ($1.95)
and 2 fun pops were received which are chocolate on a stick
(approx. $1.15 each)

My Grandma's of New England Coffee Cake Review &GIVEAWAY!!

My Grandma's of New England ®

As a busy mom I am all about convenience, and these days it sometimes results in ordering the finer things online. I am not a baker by trade nor am I relative of one so if a recipe is easy and I have the ingredients on hand I may give it a try, otherwise I found it so much easier to let someone else whip me up a special one of a kind treat.
My Grandma's of New England is one of those one of a kind, go to, online or in store places and just by the name of it I living in California do not have the ability to run down the street to get one of theses beauties. Whether you are looking for a coffee cake(like I tried),cookie, congo bar or brownie as well as many gluten free products this company has something for nearly everyone. You can find them in participating stores or online either is easy to acquire a very rich, satisfying product in the home or office. **I received a product from said company for review purposes, all opinions are 100% my own, and receipt of products never guarantees a positive review, as I base the review on my and my families opinion**
     About the company:
My Grandma's of New England® started an industry in 1990 with their original Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake - and with good reason. These decadent, dinner-worthy cakes are made from the finest and freshest ingredients available. The moistness and flavor of the cake are unmatched. All cakes are handmade and certified Kosher under Orthodox supervision.

I happily received a Large New England Blueberry Coffee Cake(no nuts)

and let me tell you this cake does NOT disappoint. The box arrived via Fed Ex within 3 days of shipment(company preferred) in an air tight sealed box with no noticeable openings due to plastic wrap. The box was very durable and the product came in box uncrushed,
just some minor cracking of product due to distance. The coffee cake was again wrapped in a plastic sealed bag to provide the freshest of product(shelf life depends on storage) and arrived on a piece of cardboard for ease of removal from packaging.

Once opened the Blueberry flavor was abundant and the kids could not wait to tear into this mouth watering cake.

It comes in the form of a bundt therefore its easy to slice, but if you prefer they can slice it for you. This cake was so moist it was as if I just made it myself I could have fooled everyone with this if they did not see that Fed Ex man :)

The cake is made with no walnuts and is kosher, it weighs a little more than 3 pounds and can feed about 16-20 people.
The best thing about online ordering is I can have almost anything delivered to my home whether its near me or not. Lets talk customer service, this company is very prompt in responding to an issue that might arise with your order. I had a minor issue, it was addressed and fixed within 24 hours and that makes for amazing customer service and creates that come again business for a company.
If you are looking for that unique Christmas or any occasion gift idea, this is perfect, the items come as described or you can purchase them in a tin. If you are lucky enough to be near a retailer selling you can pick them up in store or, like me, have it delivered. This is the perfect gift for anyone!
Go to Facebook and tell them I sent you or twitter.

A corrupt healthcare administrator hell-bent on bloody revenge...

A mysterious seductress whose secrets could free the doctor and kill thousands ...

A terrorist cell with missiles aimed at a leading hospital in America’s Bible Belt ...

Not for Profit takes you on an action-packed thrill ride that will have you questioning suspects, motives, and outcomes until the very last page.

Renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Scott James is charged with murder after two bodies are found at his surgery center. Just weeks before the start of his capital murder trial, Dr. James is approached by a beautiful woman claiming she can help him gain information that would prove his innocence.

As James hunts down the evidence that might free him, he faces a barrage of threats to his life and liberty—and makes one chilling discovery after another: Corporate corruption. A conspiracy to frame him for murder and for terrorist acts. A secret drone-control operation that takes out targets in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The true identity and intent of his beautiful ally. And a plot to blow up the local hospital and surrounding community.

Dr. Glenn Shepard was raised on a farm in eastern Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia on an academic scholarship and majored in psychology. As an undergraduate, he lettered in wrestling for three years in a row. Then, he went on to become the only person in UVA history to letter in wrestling again in his sophomore year in medical school.

After completion of med school at UVA, he went to Vanderbilt where he completed his residency in general and cardiovascular surgery. He spent two years in the Army at the Ft. Gordon Army Hospital in Augusta, Georgia and The Second Surgical Hospital in An Khe, Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he wrote his first work of fiction, SURGE, which is on his back burner of works to dig out of the attic and publish, with major revisions, in the future.

For 28 years, he founded and directed The Peninsula Cranio-Facial deformities clinic that was staffed by volunteer medical, dental, social services, psychology, and speech pathology experts. The group treated over five hundred patients with cleft lips and palates, as well as a variety of deformities of the face and hand.

After the massive earthquake in Haiti in January, 2010, Dr. Shepard emerged from retirement and joined the Notre Dame Hospital unit in Leogane, Haiti for a 10 day rotation. His empathy for the people and their problems as well as his admiration for the contributions of time and talent from medical personnel from all over the world greatly inspired his second novel, RELIEF AID, HAITI.

NOT FOR PROFIT, Dr. Shepard's first thriller.
My take on book:)
I really liked the book, but felt at times I had to reread certain chapters as we hopped around a lot I felt in the whole idea and story line. I liked the imagery of the characters from Scott to Alpha Charlie and felt they were well defined and pictured.
I am not a blood, guts and gore book reader therefore I was kind of off set by the murders and decapitations that were prevalent and in great detail. It was not overly sexualized yet for some readers it may cause some uneasiness as certain scenes are very visual.
The idea of him and his Orchids were kind of off the wall and bizarre to focus on throughout the entire book, I mean the details were great for Orchids but belong in a botany book not a crime, drama, mystery. After the first few chapters I did stop reading about the orchids because really it was just not something that interested me. I read to enjoy my quiet time not learn a lesson on flowers I do not own.
The idea of the author being an M.D was very pronounced as it was in great detail he could create a picture in your head of the actual medical procedure and the great lengths he went to explain his twists and turns.
Would I recommend the book? Yes, to someone who enjoys a good thrill ride. I love to read and would more than likely be interested in other books by this offer, as his first and third characters did not really bother my perception to much. He does need to stop using his !!!!!!!!! that does kind of get to the reader, as we understand a point is being made.
Overall I felt it was a good read**I did receive this book for review from the author in exchange for an honest review**

**Newmans Own Organics**Review GIVEAWAY!!

Our Treats & Snacks
Newmans Own Organics

It's easy to confuse Newman's Own and Newman's Own Organics products. NOO started as a division of Newman's Own in 1993 by Nell Newman and her business partner, Peter Meehan, but became a separate company in early 2001. The two companies have separate lines of products.
I recently received the opportunity to review some products exclusive to Newmans Own Organics and was completely surprised by the quality and taste. Not that I thought that anything was wrong with the company BUT low fat, fat free, wheat/dairy free is mentioned in some of these fantastic products and I would have thought to myself, minus this or that, minus the taste but was I WRONG!! WOW!! I have found my new friend and snack and I can feel better about my kids eating something that is better for them.

I've got to say these Newman's Own Organic O's are some excellent cookies and honestly by the look of them you would compare them to other brands BUT don't let looks deceive you. These are fabulous each flavor is distinct and very flavorful, the cookie is crunchy not soft and the filling is right on point. The "hint o' mint" were definitely my favorite it was nice and minty had no clue in taste that these were organic without all the added products other companies offer. My kids, on the other hand, liked all BUT the mint and that was fine for me because now I could claim and not have to share:) Little "T" enjoyed the original she is more of a simpler kind of girl, "E" liked the original and the Vanilla and "J" enjoyed the Peanut Butter(that's more his thing). The Fig Newmans were very good, I really liked them when I needed something that was not crunchy, these were soft and moist..GREAT taste and very satisfying for a snack.**fat free, low fat, wheat/dairy free**

Newman's Own Organics has made a commitment with the launch of our new chocolate bars and cups to pay a premium above and beyond the current market price for Certified Organic Cocoa Beans that is tied to the Fair Trade market price of Organic Cocoa Beans.

These are Newman's Own Organic Milk Chocolate Caramel cups and let me tell you these are so good and the perfect treat for after the kids go to bed(and I don't have to share) :) I opened the package to find 3 bite size cups of chocolate-caramel goodness. The chocolate was perfectly flavored and the caramel was smooth and creamy, when you bite into the cup you see the creaminess of the caramel oozing out. This is definitely a keeper in my house!! So good!! They carry the USDA seal and the Rainforest Allegiance Certification.
There was so many yummy things in my box and if I was to post all of them now this would be a LONG post so I'm going to give you my number 3 favorite. Trust me, not for any reason other than the fact I LOVE dried fruit..its my weakness!!

Whether it be dried apples, apricots, strawberries whatever I just enjoy snacking on them after I put the kids to bed. So many times a product that has dried fruit has so many additives but this one does not, I mean come on, if it has added sugar how can it be healthy?? I had the opportunity to try the Newman's Own Organic Apples, let me tell you tastes just like a fresh apple off the tree. It is chewy not crunchy, the flavor is ideal and the best part it contains no sulfates.
Now talking about nice chewy candy with a bit of tartness, this is for you!! I like licorice and enjoy it now and again, but with kids in my house it does not last long nor did these. These Newman's Own Organic Licorice come in sour and original and they are sure to please, the sugar and sour crystals are derived from natural sources.

The kids loved these, as they are a little more chewy than regular licorice and last a bit longer. The flavors are so natural and they come in a variety of flavors and all the kids gave these a thumbs up.These are low in fat, sodium and cholesterol free.

The Newman's Own Organic Alphabet cookies are a smaller version of cookies for little hands to hold and carry. My kids liked the alphabet cookies as it was fun playing with their food they could spell words or just be silly and make up words. My kids had the chance to sample the chocolate chip and the chocolate, I really could not get a straight answer on which was better. They are perfect to pack and take along, they don't melt and they are perfect size to not spoil an appetite.
Do you enjoy popcorn?? Well Newman's Own Organics carries that as well, I know they carry a bunch of things!! Any snack item I could imagine I was able to try and the Pop's Corn was a favorite of mine and a friend who ate it while watching movies at home(kids asleep). No oils, no transfat and 3 different flavors, this definitely a must have for a family movie night. Like all of Newman's Own Organics products, Pop's Corn has been certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
Newman's Own Organics carries a great line of mints in cinnamon, ginger, peppermint and wintergreen :

They do come in rolls as well as tins, I have no preference but the tins are very eye catching and can be used for a dual purpose:)
All flavors in both the tins and rolls are made from organic sugar, organic corn syrup, gum arabic and natural flavors. Three pieces (2.0g) contain ten calories with 2g of sugar and no total fat, sodium or protein.
So what is preventing you from looking for these wonderful, healthy snacks in store? Its real simple click <HERE> and find a retailer near you.

**Choosing Preschool & After School Care** #sponsored post

Allowing your child to be in someone else’s care is quite a big deal. But using a place like Sierra preschool & after school services can do a lot of good for your child. Just be certain they’re providing everything your child needs, such as safety and security, learning, and other services.

Facilities and Safety

Certainly you don’t want to leave your child in a place that is easy to walk into and walk out of with a child. The best options provide a reasonable amount of security. Identification should be required to enter the facility so that strangers may not do so. They should not release your child to anyone who is not listed under those you have deemed acceptable. If you are worried about how your kids are treated throughout the day, try to find facilities with monitoring and cameras. Then if you question your child’s treatment, you can be shown video footage.

Teaching and Learning

It is also important to put your child in a school where they will be taught and prepared for kindergarten. They should use researched techniques and methods for this preparation. Children’s learning should consist of lots of playing. They need exposure to all kinds of activities, teaching them concepts of cause and effect, color, texture, and shape. Role-playing activities help children to develop literacy in various circumstances. Be sure to sign your child up at a facility that only hires qualified individuals. They should be state licensed and should go through frequent evaluations. Pay particular attention to the ratio of students to teachers as well, to be sure your child gets optimum attention.

Socializing and More

One of the many benefits of using a place like Sierra preschool & after school services is the socialization it helps your child develop. Your son or daughter should learn how to play well with others and to interact in a peaceful way. There are many other services typically offered by these facilities, including pickup services. Many can also accommodate early drop-off times. Inquire about all of these things and more before you make a decision about where to send your child.

**Almondina Brand Cookies** Review and Giveaway

image descriptionimage description

GRANDMA DINA’S SECRET RECIPE...

This Delectable award-winning cookie recipe is prepared just the way Grandma Dina used to make in her kitchen.

I'm admittedly a cookie junky, there is just so much to enjoy about a nice crispy, crunchy, texture overload. The Almondina company has created the fine art of all those qualities rolled into one. Whether you are like me, a coffee dunker, or just enjoy one while reading that book, this has so much taste and texture in every bite. Award winning , loved and admired for generations and kept as a family secret
The original recipe, crispy almond cookie , has no added fat, salt, cholesterol and preservatives and even with all those missing you are not missing any flavor. The cookies are crunchy, yet slightly chewy because of the real fruit pieces. It is a perfect accompaniment to coffee, teas or even your favorite wine..could definitely be served as a dinner party treat.
Like mentioned earlier I love coffee and light cookies so my first flavor choice was the Original, not for any particular reason other than I closed my eyes and picked one. The flavor of original is more than an original flavor, the wafer was crispy, the flavor was lightly sweetened and was chocked full of raisins and almond pieces. Almondina has a list of ingredients on the back of their packages and the listing is very minimal with no weird additives, everything is easily said and understood. The cookie are light and a recommended amount of 4 per serving.
The next flavor i tried was the Chocolate Cherry and it was amazingly chocolate-y with a nice crunchy chewy cherry flavor. Every bite is full of all flavor, this is definitely a luxury treat perfectly paired with any warm drink, for me.
Because I was chosen to review the products from the company I received a nice variety of flavors and I really can't choose one favorite I thought they were all super yummy and definitely a must try for anyone that likes a lower fat alternative to a cookie.
The Almondina variety pack gives you a nice array of flavors and has a special taste for any cookie lover..chocolate, coconut, cherry, cinnamon and all have the almonds and all natural flavors baked in.
The choconut had a great flavor of chocolate  and almond with a perfect taste for a late night chocolate snack.
The Gingerspice was a very good flavorful cookie, as I am not a ginger kind of person, but I did find i enjoyed this crushed on a bowl of greek yogurt. I could not make myself dunk it coffee because I dont feel ginger is a coffee safe flavor.
The Sesame this one is very similar to the Original in the way its made with raisins and almonds but the added sesame gave it a little bit more flavor.

** I have to say I am not being compensated any other way by the company than them providing me with the review product. This is definitely a "thumbs up" in my book as the crispy crunchy wafer really sealed the deal for me.All opinions are my own**
I love any cookie than offers more than flavor and this indeed does that. The next time you are looking for the lower in fat alternative make sure you give these a second look. If interested you can buy them o.nline..<HERE> or locate a store near you <HERE>.

**How To Shop For Earphones Online** #sponsored

Most people know by now that one of the best ways to shop is online. Some things you probably don’t want to buy online, like shoes. You want to walk in them, see if your heel slips out, find out if it is a half-size too big, or some other problem. Other things you can definitely buy from the web, like headphones. If you’re searching for earphones online, here are some tips to help you choose the best ones.

Look for Deals

There are so many group deal websites online now. They have product sales available both in your area and country-wide. Watch those deals or sign up for the emails to see what a competitive price would be. If you already have an idea of what brand you want, that’s an advantage because you can look specifically for deals related to that product or brand. Also consider watching timed deals online, like auction websites. Some websites will let you put in a notification for when an item you want goes on sale. This is a great tool for you, the customer, to save some money.

Read Reviews

Just because you found a great deal doesn’t mean it’s a good product. In fact, it can often mean the opposite. Don’t buy something just because it’s cheap. Read the reviews first. Check popular purchasing websites to see what customers have said. Maybe they have complaints regarding the sound quality or comfort of the headphones. Maybe they stopped working after a week. Even for $10, you don’t want crappy headphones. Make sure to remain unbiased. Read both positive and negative reviews, and prioritize the features that are important to you.

Test In-Store

One option is to use headphones in a department store to see if you like them. Then look for earphones online to see if you can find them at a better price. If you don’t want to wait or pay for shipping, see if the store can match the price you found online. Before you buy them online, check for the warranty and return policy to make sure how much it would cost you to return or exchange the product, if anything. These are all tips to help you save money and get a great product from the Internet.

**Divorce...Does the state really matter?** #sponsored post

familygamenight.net

Research shows divorce rates are often higher in the Southern states but location is just the tip of the iceburg. The Southern states have an instance for a higher rate of divorce because of conservatism. Experts believe the reason for higher divorce rates is due to getting married to young, insecure employment and the need to co-habitation among families.
We all know getting married takes some maturity and if it is done before the person is secure with themselves how can they open up to another and be willing to give what is needed for a healthy relationship. Often times those who marry before the age of 20 have not had that ability to grow and mature to apply themselves into a healthy lifestyle.
Employment is very important to any relationship, nothing can test a family than have to struggle to keep the family together. If you bring in a child or have children in the home, yes, the divorce rate may be lower because you as a couple have come to the realization that you need to do for the family.
Cohabiting is tough on a family structure as there are too many people with a vested interest in your relationship, we all know our issues should be ours not for others ears. I found a very good read that gives you ideas on all the ups and downs of the relationship. The Ring Makes All The Difference is an eye opening book that gives you so much incite from an outsiders perspective.
amazon
I came from a divorced home of which my parents divorced within a couple years of my birth. I did not live in the "Bible Belt" I lived in Illinois. Growing up I didn't know anyone besides me that had divorced parents and that was what I knew. My mom and I lived in a trailer and my father lived across town. Custody became something very easy , I stayed with my mom and she did not have to allow him to see me, and child support was minimal if any. We struggled with money as I was little and my mom worked 2 full time jobs to keep us afloat on her income since his was not coming in. My parents hated each other and it was a bitter family because it all came down to me.
As I turned into adulthood I realized how hard the divorce had been on me as I had many relations but was not eager to marry so I didn't end up like my family. I am a married mother of 4 kids and my kids are the glue I am not going to say this marriage thing is easy because even at 41 I think maybe this was not the right time. Have "I" contemplated "divorce"...yeah.. I push on daily hoping it will survive, not so much for me but for the kids. If I was to divorce I don't know if there would be a second or third time, only time will tell.
